TheatreHD Opera Club in GUM Cinema. Carmen. Special screening with Sergey Bulanov
Оперный клуб TheatreHD в Кинозале ГУМ. Кармен. Спецпоказ с Сергеем Булановым
Salzburg comes to GUM. The TheatreHD Opera Club presents "Carmen", the summer's most talked-about Salzburg premiere. The creative team is nothing short of stellar: conductor and musical director Teodor Currentzis, director-choreographer Gabriela Carrizo with her dance company Peeping Tom, and Asmik Grigorian in the title role.
The screening will be introduced by our special guest, musicologist, critic, and lecturer Sergei Bulanov. Together we'll unpack this powerful, uncomfortable statement about a world where love turns into obsession — and the desire for freedom becomes a deadly threat.

A stark, abstract world in red and grey. No Iberian sunshine, no market bustle — just dark, forbidding walls and grey rock. Gabriela Carrizo's production is as much a dance statement as an opera: dancing alter egos, electronic soundscapes, raw flamenco, and a hard-edged physical language replacing the usual dialogue.
Asmik Grigorian's Carmen — the festival's most talked-about debut — is no femme fatale stereotype, but a living, vulnerable woman who defies the very image imposed on her. With Jonathan Tetelman (Don José), Kristina Mkhitaryan (Micaëla), and Davide Luciano (Escamillo).
