Graduated from the Moscow Art Theatre School-Studio in 1983 (V. Monukov's class) and was accepted into the company of the Moscow Art Theatre.
Has been a teacher at the Moscow Art Theatre School-Studio since 1989; holds the rank of Professor.
Taught acting in Paris.
In November 2011, was appointed Director of the Central House of the Actor named after A. A. Yablochkina.
On June 1, 2013, was elected Rector of the Moscow Art Theatre School-Studio.
On November 1, 2016, became Deputy Artistic Director of the Moscow Art Theatre named after A. P. Chekhov.
