Graduated from the Department of History and Theory of Art, Faculty of History, Lomonosov Moscow State University, postgraduate program at the State Institute of Art Studies.
Since 1990, Milena Orlova's publications have regularly appeared in periodicals. From 1997 to 2009, she worked for the Kommersant newspaper as a correspondent, deputy head of the culture department. Since 2012, Milena Orlova has been the editor-in-chief of the art publication The Art Newspaper Russia.
Co-author, together with Alexandra Obukhova, of the book "Painting Without Borders. From Pop Art to Conceptualism."
Gives lectures on contemporary art and art criticism, acts as an expert in the media.
