The Nutcracker Marathon is in full swing!🎄
There are many wonderful fairy tales and no less wonderful ballets. But for the New Year, we somehow absolutely must have "The Nutcracker." A story that can be told in different ways, but always—about the anticipation of a miracle, about dreams, about gifts under the Christmas tree, and, on a broader scale, about the victory of good over evil. Always accompanied by the great music of Tchaikovsky, setting the mood for celebration and magic.
Our Nutcrackers this year:
❄️ A youthful, tender production performed by students of the Vaganova Academy of Russian Ballet
❄️ A watercolor, cozy, very atmospheric ballet from the stage of the Dresden Opera
❄️ A grand, slightly Hoffmann-esque, somewhat somber Viennese "Nutcracker" choreographed by Nureyev
❄️ An elegant, classical performance from the stage of the Berlin State Opera starring Vladimir Malakhov and Nadia Saidakova
❄️ A ballet by Yuri Possokhov from the stage of the Stanislavski and Nemirovich-Danchenko Moscow Musical Theatre, thrilling with the live breath of a direct broadcast (December 21st)
❄️ The most beloved and long-awaited version of the New Year's ballet—Yuri Grigorovich's production on the stage of the Bolshoi Theatre.
❄️ And online—the fairy-tale performance by Matthew Bourne, an elegant homage to 1930s musicals and early Hollywood, from which the choreographer's love for dance and theater grew.
