"The Idiot" in Krzysztof Warlikowski's sensational Salzburg production, based on the novel by Fyodor Dostoevsky – a premiere as part of the Opera Club TheatreHD at GUM Cinema.
The special guest of the screening is Natalia Surnina, a musicologist, music critic, and press secretary of the Moscow State Academic Philharmonic. Before the screening, we will talk about the figure of Mieczysław Weinberg, a composer with a complex destiny, about the music, the peculiarities of the literary adaptation of Dostoevsky's text, and how the production by director Krzysztof Warlikowski and conductor Mirga Gražinytė-Tyla conquered the audience of one of the most demanding festivals.

For the opera adaptation of Dostoevsky's great novel at the Salzburg Festival, the production is led by director Krzysztof Warlikowski, known for his attention to detail and breathtaking talent for using complex spaces, and master conductor Mirga Gražinytė-Tyla.
An excellent ensemble of soloists ensures the high musical level of the production. Bogdan Volkov (Prince Myshkin), Aušrinė Stundytė (Nastasya Filippovna), and Vladislav Sulimsky (Parfyon Rogozhin) perform at the level of the highest dramatic theatre while successfully handling all the "orchestral storms."
